Jennie Nelms, the principal, has taught dancing in the Nailsea and Backwell area for many years but has only recently opened her own school. Jennie is well known for the high standard of her tuition and her care and consideration for both her students and their parents.  

Jennie is a registered teacher and life member of the Royal Academy of Dance and a registered teacher of the British Theatre Dance Association.

She is ably supported by Adele Stitch who is also RAD Registered and a member of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance. The school is therefore able to offer the highest standard of teaching in ballet, tap, modern and jazz dancing. The school also has the opportunity to call on other very experienced and qualified teachers to assist in the coaching of higher grade students.

Pupils are entered for RAD, ISTD and BTDA examinations which are held several times throughout the school year.

Whenever possible the pupils of the school are given the opportunity to perform on stage. Shows are produced at regular intervals and children are able to dance in support of local events for charity. Donations have been made to several charities recently.

A large number of pupils enter dance festivals and eisteddfods either as solo, duet, trio or group entries showing a range of styles from classical ballet to jazz and song and dance.

Many of Jennie’s students have been very successful in obtaining places in schools and colleges for full time dance and acting tuition and many have progressed to successful professional stage or teaching careers.
